What is a wiki?

A website or similar online resource which allows users to add and edit content collectively.

“Wiki wiki” means "rapidly" in the Hawaiian language.

How is a wiki different from a regular web site?

Wikis are considered to be Wed2.0 technology. Like Blogs they allow users to interact with one another and expand the site.

You can easily create links to web sites, upload documents, photos, and even videos.

Wikis can be either private or public.

You can invite others such as other teachers or parents to particpate in your site. Student accounts can also be created. They then have the ability to contribute to the site and even edit the site.
